1. When and how did your journey to Oman begin?
- We came to Oman in 2008. I came here on a work assignment with Al Nahda Resort & Spa in Muscat.

2. Tell us a bit about you, your family and your life in Oman.
- My husband and I are both from the hospitality background and we have one daughter who is studying in grade 9th in Indian School in Muscat. My husband runs his own business. We own an Indian Restaurant and Lounge " Maya " in Muscat and back home in India.

3. Tell us something interesting about your social gatherings, friends, and food habits?
- Having lived in this beautiful country for close to 9 years now, we now call this our home and have many friends from different parts of the world who we often meet up over the weekends for dinners.
My family is a big foodie and we love to explore different cuisines even though Indian food remains on our top list all the time.

4. Let’s talk about your education? Where did you complete your studies from?
- I come from a defense family and my dad being an Army officer we traveled all across India and studied in different schools. I studied Hotel Management in Chennai in India .

5. What is your advice for those aspiring to work abroad?
- Having worked out of India for almost a decade now, it is very important to understand the pros and cons of the job offered as well as it is important to do a bit of a research on the company one is joining. Oman as a country is a great place to work and expats are offered equal rights as the locals .

6. How helpful is the Indian Community to those who have recently arrived in the country
- Indian community in Oman is very strong and very close knit. For those who are new to the country, people generally don't feel out of place as the Indian Social Club along with the Indian Embassy actively celebrate all the festivals, organize frequent get together for people to meet up and socialize.

7. How do you feel about residing in Oman? What do you like the most about Oman?
- Oman gives me and my family a complete sense of safety and security. I love its cleanliness, its people ( Omanis are one of the friendliest and the most humble people i have come across ), its deep rooted culture and its steady pace of life. I consider this as my home and would love to stay here for many more years to come.

8. How easy or difficult was it to settle in during the first few months?
- Having grown up in an army family, adaptability and accepting change comes naturally to me. However, of all the expats i have met, i havent come across any person who has had difficulty settling in. In my case i would say , i was given all the support that i required to help me settle down from Locals as well as my expat friends.

9. Tell us about you’re the secret of your success. Your idea of women entrepreneurship, how is Women entrepreneurship important for the development of India.
- I have consistently worked throughout my career. Job in hotel industry can be extremely tough in the first few years. Women are programmed to be the best multi taskers. It is their eye for details and dedication and hard work that makes them a very successful entrepreneur. Women entrepreneurs are often perceived as not so competent, however , today's woman is equally qualified as men and has created a niche for herself in all sectors and fields.

10. Your advice for aspiring working women abroad especially in Gulf countries
- Work is not defined by boundaries. A women who has the capabilities will shine and get noticed amongst everyone else.

11. Are there any similarities between India and Oman?
- Oman is similar to India due to its topography. At one place where the wide roads remind you of Delhi, the lush greenery Khareef season takes you to the beautiful memory of Kerala. The desert reminds you of rajasthan. It's an amalgamation of several places put together at one that's called Oman. It's people are simple and humble very similar to the people you interact with in the countryside in India.

12. Do you have any message you that would like to share with other like-minded NRIs across the globe?
- As soon as we step out of our country and start living in another country, we have a responsibility and a role to play for our country ir-respective of our postitions, status, earnings etc. We all are the brand ambassadors representing our country's culture and ethics to the world. It is very important to live upto that at all times and as NRIs we should try and help and assist our fellow NRI's as one does to its family. Indians are now seen in every part of the world and doing extremely well that also helps boost economy.
