Saudi Arabia Arrests 20,882 People in One Week in Nationwide Crackdown

Saudi authorities arrested 20,882 individuals during a week-long campaign targeting violations of residency, labor, and border security laws, the Ministry of Interior announced via the Saudi Press Agency.
Breakdown of the arrests:

12,975 for residency law violations

4,185 for illegal border crossings

3,722 for labor law violations
Authorities referred:
-
22,550 violators to their diplomatic missions for travel documents
-
2,394 to finalize travel arrangements
-
10,895 individuals have already been deported
The Ministry warned that facilitating these violations—such as providing transport or shelter—can lead to up to 15 years imprisonment, fines up to SR 1 million, and confiscation of assets
