Riyadh Metro Hits 100 Million Passengers in Nine Months

The Riyadh Metro, the world’s longest driverless transit system, has reached a remarkable milestone by carrying 100 million passengers within just nine months of operation since its launch in December 2024.

According to the Riyadh Metro Operation Authority, the system recorded an outstanding 99.7% punctuality rate, making it one of the most reliable public transport systems globally.

Breakdown of passengers by lines:

  • Blue Line (Line 1): 46.5 million

  • Red Line (Line 2): 17 million

  • Orange Line (Line 3): 12 million

  • Remaining Lines (4, 5 & 6): 24.5 million combined

The metro’s busiest stations include Qasr al-Hokm, KAFD, stc, and the National Museum, which together account for nearly 29% of all ridership.

This achievement reflects Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, aiming to transform Riyadh into a modern, sustainable city with world-class infrastructure and efficient public transport.
