Saudi Arabia’s Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdulaziz Al-Sheikh Passes Away at 82

• Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Sheikh, the Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia, has died at the age of 82.

• He had served as Grand Mufti since 1999, also leading the Council of Senior Scholars and the General Presidency of Islamic Research and Ifta.

• The Royal Court ordered funeral prayers at Imam Turki bin Abdullah Mosque in Riyadh, and absentee prayers are to be held in mosques across the Kingdom — including at the Grand Mosque in Mecca and the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina — after the Asr prayer.

• King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman have expressed condolences.
