Saturday, October 25, 2025 Riyadh

The Embassy of India in Riyadh has officially launched the Global Passport Seva Programme 2.0 (GPSP V2.0), marking a significant step forward in modernizing passport services for the Indian diaspora in Saudi Arabia.

To commemorate this milestone, Ambassador Dr. Suhel Khan handed over the first set of e-Passports, symbolizing a new era of secure, efficient, and digitally advanced passport issuance.

Under the upgraded GPSP V2.0, applicants will now receive chip-enabled e-Passports that incorporate enhanced digital and biometric security features, ensuring greater protection of personal data and faster verification processes.

The Embassy clarified that existing passports will remain valid until their expiry, and applicants who submitted their applications before October 24, 2025, under GPSP V1.0, will continue to receive passports issued under the previous system.

The introduction of GPSP V2.0 underscores India’s commitment to improving consular services abroad and leveraging technology to enhance efficiency, transparency, and user experience for Indian citizens living overseas.
