The Embassy of India in Riyadh marked India’s 79th Independence Day with a vibrant celebration featuring the Indian national flag hoisted by Ambassador Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan. The ceremony commenced with the singing of the national anthem and a solemn floral tribute at the bust of Mahatma Gandhi.

In his address, the Ambassador read out the Indian President’s message and underscored the deepening India–Saudi Arabia partnership. He praised the contributions of the Indian diaspora in strengthening bilateral ties.

The event included cultural performances—dance, patriotic songs, and tributes reflecting India’s rich diversity—led by members of the Indian community, embassy staff, and media personnel, with attendance exceeding a thousand.

As part of the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign, embassy staff and families also participated in flag-hoisting at their homes and a community-led cleanliness drive promoting the spirit of national pride and civic responsibility.
