Paramita Tripathi, an Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer from the 2001 batch, has been appointed as the new Ambassador of India to Kuwait.

She is currently serving as Joint Secretary in India’s Ministry of External Affairs. Her past diplomatic roles include working on the Pakistan desk and United Nations desk, and postings in Singapore (Deputy High Commissioner), Brussels, and Tokyo.

Tripathi will succeed Dr Adarsh Swaika, who will conclude his tenure as Ambassador to Kuwait and move on to become India’s High Commissioner to Kenya.

India and Kuwait have longstanding, friendly relations. Their ties were further elevated to a Strategic Partnership during Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Kuwait in 2024
