BDK Angels; the women's wing of Blood donors Kerala Kuwait chapter and Malayali Mums Middle East Kuwait (MMMEK) have jointly organized a blood donation camp to celebrate International Women’s Day. BDK’s annual sponsor and corporate partner BEC Exchange and Badr Al Samaa Medical Center facilitated the necessary support for the blood donation camp.

The camp was conducted on March 12, 2022, from03:00 pm to 07:00 pm, at Kuwait Central Blood Bank, Jabriya. India has among the lowest number of female donors in the world, by the statistics of WHO. MMME;an organization steadfast in its commitment for women empowerment has therefore decided to instill awareness among the women fraternity and to bring them to the forefront by conducting blood donation campaigns and a blood donation camp associating with BDK’s Angels wing was realized.

The joint campaign has witnessed substantial results as more than 20 ladies and in total over 50 donors from various segments of the community turned in on the blood donation day to bleed themselves for a noble cause. The camp was formally inaugurated by Dr. Jasla Riyas in the presence of MMME panel members. Ameera Hawas MMME, Ambili Ragesh MMME, Yamuna Reghubal BDK and Lekha Shyam BDK  felicitated the blood donors. Certificates were distributed to all the donors who attended the camp. BDK Angels coordinators Yamuna Reghubal, Liny Joy and Sophy Rajan coordinated the blood donation drive.
