Indians Top Labour Market in Kuwait with 5.78 Lakh Workers as of June 2025

A recent labour-market report from the Kuwait Labour Ministry shows that by end-June 2025, the number of workers in Kuwait (excluding domestic workers) reached 2.229 million.
Among expatriate workers, Indians held the largest share — 5,78,240 workers, accounting for 25.9% of the total workforce, an increase of 4,375 compared to end of 2024.
Egyptians were second with 4,69,370 workers, while Kuwaiti citizens numbered 448,900.
The report also showed that during the first half of 2025, the workforce grew by 15,550 workers. Expatriate employment increased by 16,227, while citizen employment dipped by 669.
Other highlights include:

73.1% of Kuwaiti citizens in the workforce are in government jobs (327,967 people), a drop of 5,112 from end-2024.

Average monthly salary for Kuwaiti citizens in government jobs: KD 1,605; private sector: KD 1,401.
These figures reflect the continued growth of the expatriate workforce in Kuwait, with Indian workers playing a leading role.
