Delhi Woman Scammed of ₹73,000 by Fake Saudi Job Promise Under ‘Haj Khidmat Yatra’

A 42-year-old woman from Delhi fell victim to a fake job scam, losing ₹73,000 to an individual posing as a recruitment agent. The scammer lured her with a fake promise of employment in Saudi Arabia under the “Haj Khidmat Yatra” program, assuring her a six-month visa with free boarding, lodging, and flight tickets. A medical exam was also reportedly arranged. However, when she reached the airport, she discovered the tickets were forged.
The fraudster assured her of a six-month visa, free boarding and lodging and an attractive salary.
Delhi Police arrested the accused from Gonda, Uttar Pradesh after a raid, and recovered the phone used in the scam. He confessed to the crime, and a case has been registered under relevant sections of the penal code. Investigations are ongoing to identify other victims and possible accomplices.
