Indian Family Living Illegally in Bahrain for 13 Years Returns Home After Documentation Struggle

After more than a decade of uncertainty, an Indian family that had been living illegally in Bahrain for 13 years due to unresolved documentation issues has finally returned home to India.

Ashraf Lambeth, along with his wife Ramsheedha and their two daughters, Rifa Sherin and Arafa Fatima, said goodbye to the kingdom after a long and painful struggle involving medical, legal, and financial complications.

The family had fallen into undocumented status following immigration difficulties, which made it impossible for them to leave Bahrain or regularize their stay. Their case was further complicated by health concerns and lack of resources, which left them in a state of limbo for years.

Thanks to the support of local authorities, community leaders, and assistance from the Indian Embassy in Bahrain, the family was eventually granted clearance to return. Their story is a powerful reminder of the importance of documentation and the lifeline that diplomatic and community support can provide.

“This is a moment of deep relief for our family. We never gave up hope,” said Mr. Lambeth as he prepared to depart.
